A good online scrubber will check whatever is possible given the information you enter. It should answer your question.
What do we mean by "question"? Well, sometimes you just want to know if two procedures can appear on the same claim. That's called checking the CCI edits. Anything calling itself a scrubber will do that. But that's a pretty low bar.
But what if your question is about the medical necessity for a particular procedure? If that's your question, you should be able to enter just the procedure and the diagnosis codes that go with it.
Or if a modifier is appropriate, or required?
Or if the quantity (such as square cm) will raise a red flag?
You should be required to enter only as much of the claim as you need to answer your question.
